Claire Rong - Piano - Youth Category - Platinum Medalist - USA

Claire Rong, age 14, is a freshman at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Claire started to play piano at the age of 4. She is currently taking piano lessons with Mrs. Sueanne Metz. During the past four years with Sueanne, Claire has made rapid progress at piano and has become more and more passionate about classical music.
Claire has won numerous local, national and international piano competitions including first place at the 2018 AFAF International Concerto Competition, overall best performance for 2017 US New Star Piano Competition, first place at 2017 Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition, second place at 2018 Chopin International Piano Competition and third place at 2022 Chicago International Music Competition etc.
Claire has given many public performances in different places around the world. She performed at Musikverein in Vienna Austria, Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, Kostroma Russia with the Kostroma Orchestra and Kurozweki Palace in Poland. Claire is also an active member of her school orchestra.

In addition to music, Claire enjoys drawing, reading and travelling around the world. She has a natural love for animals and enjoys playing with her cats, Sunny and Chilly.

​Tiffany Tsui - Violin - Youth Category - Platinum Medalist - USA

16-year-old Tiffany Tsui is an interdisciplinary artist attending Trinity School in New York City. She plays the violin and piano, sang with Broadway Youth Ensemble, and is a ballerina who trained at the School of American Ballet for 7 years. Tiffany studies violin with Nurit Pacht at Kaufman Music Center's Young Artist Program. She has won many international awards including first prizes with Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition (Platinum prize, March 2023),  Cambridge Music Competiton (March, 2023), Charleston International Music Competition (2022), International Youth Music Competition, Vivo International Music Competition, London Young Musician, Grand Prize Virtuoso in Bonn, Germany, NY State Music Teachers’ Association Heddy Killian Competition, Rising Stars of America competition, The Art of Strings, & American Protégé, as well as awards with American Youth Musician Union International Competition, Rondo Young Artist Competition, Forte International Music Competition, and Kings Peak International Competition. This spring, her piano trio won the Anselmo Academy International Youth Competition, American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition, and the Chamber Music Society’s Young Musician competition, where they performed at Lincoln Center. Also this past year, Tiffany's string quartet "Tetrad" won first prize in the USA Classical Music International Competition. Both ensembles were also prize winners at the Great Composers Competition 2022.
In middle school, Tiffany was one of 2 violinists chosen from NY State Middle Schools to perform with NY Pops Orchestra and Cindy Lauper at Carnegie Hall in the Kids on Stage program. Tiffany was cast for 4 seasons at the Metropolitan Opera, and she danced for 5 years in over 100 shows with NY City Ballet. She volunteers weekly with Ballet and Beyond, teaching dance to elementary school children. Tiffany organizes concerts through Arts for Hope to bring music to the community and she is a Youth Ambassador with Concerts in Motion. Tiffany loves puppies, reading, photography.

Brian Wu - Piano - Junior Category - Platinum Medalist - USA

​Brian Wu is a 4th grader at Illinois. He was a student of Dr. Yelena Balabanova. Currently, Brian was accepted by Ms. Metz. Brian has been recognized with numerous awards when participating in competitions and festivals.  
He gained the first prize at 2023 London Grand Prize Virtuoso, and was privileged the opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Third prize of 2023 American Virtuoso International was awarded to him, he was invited to play at Carnegie Hall.  
Brian was the first Prize winners at 2022 and 2021 Charleston International Piano Competition, along with 2022 Charleston European Music Competition. He won a silver medal at the 2022 Pacific International Piano Competition and bronze medal in 2021 Northern Lights International Piano Festival in Sweden.  
Brian was standing out in Seattle local competitions. He got a silver medal from 2022 Pacific NW Piano Competition, and a gold medal from the 2021 Pacific NW.  He was gold medal winners of Sonafest Bellevue Festival, SCMTA Sonatina-Sonata Festival 2022, and 2021 Chopin NW Piano Competition. Brian achieved “Best Performance of a Baroque Composition” in the Simon-Fiset Piano Competition.   
Brian has performed in fundraising concerts, such as Yelena’s Kids against Racial Injustice and the Young Musicians for the Ukrainian Children Fundraising Concert that raised over $20,000 to aid war victims.  In his free time, he enjoys swimming and reading books.

Owen Wu - Piano - Junior Category - Platinum Medalist - USA
​
Owen Wu is a freshman at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a student of Dr. Yelena Balabanova and currently studies piano with Ms. Metz.  These wonderful piano teachers have allowed him passage to the beautiful and unrivaled musical world. 
 Owen won the bronze prize at 2023 NW Chopin Festival, as well as the first Prize at the 2023 "London" Grand Prize Virtuoso, and was selected to perform in the Elgar Room, Royal Albert Hall (London, UK).Furthermore, he achieved Best of the festival and the Gold medal at 2022 TIME ERA FESTIVAL, in which he will perform live at the end-of-the-year Recognition Gala Concert in the summer of 2023.He got a bronze medal at 2022 Pacific International Piano E-Competition, in addition to the Silver medal in the Beethoven Category at 2021 Northern Lights International Piano Festival in Sweden. 
Owen passed the RCM level 10 Practical Piano Performance test with First Class honors and has participated in the Young Musicians for the Ukrainian Children Fundraising concert, which raised over $20,000 to aid war victims. 
He is currently an active cello player in his school orchestra and a harpsichordist for the Baroque Ensemble club.  In his spare time, Owen participates in swimming and reading.

Elena Antonini - Voice - Professional Category - Gold Medalist - Italy

​Elena Antonini is an Italian soprano, graduated with 110 honors and honorable mention (first level diploma) in opera singing at the F.Morlacchi conservatory in Perugia, currently continuing her studies at the L.Marenzio conservatory in Brescia in the class of Monica Colonna and is a member of the academy of the A. Belli experimental opera house in Spoleto. In 2021 she was first classified in the "1st BEETHOVENIAMO MUSICAL COMPETITION" in Rome, and won the "INTERNATIONAL CONCERTO COMPETITION" both in August 2021 and in February 2022 organized by Master Orchestra in Brescia; in March 2022 she won the 76th edition of the 2022 EUROPEAN COMMUNITY COMPETITION FOR YOUNG OPERA SINGERS; in March 2023 she won the "career prize" at the "2nd LUGANO INTERNATIONAL ONLINE MUSIC COMPETITION" and the "Gold Prize winner" in the Musical Theater & Opera category and the "Excellent Interpretation Award" at the MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION 2023 season 1.

In 2014 she began her solo career and made her debut as soprano soloist in G. Fauré's Requiem in Fermignano; she then held the role of Asteria in G.F.Händel's Tamerlano at the L.Ronconi theater in Gubbio; the role of Peri in R.Schumann's oratorio “Das paradies und die Peri” and as soprano soloist in W.A.Mozart's Requiem for the Agimus of Perugia; the role of Marietta in the show "A core a core" produced by the Perugia Conservatory in Foligno, Spello and Umbertide; the role of Lesbina in the interlude "La franchezza delle donne" by G.Sellitti at the Caio Melisso theater in Spoleto (conductor P.Borrelli, stage director A.Stanisci); the role of Zerlina in "Don Giovanni" by W.A.Mozart at the new G.Menotti theater in Spoleto (conductor S.Percacciolo, direction H.Brockhaus); and she sings as soprano soloist in G.Faure's Messe Basse, in G.Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and in G.Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in Brescia and Venice.

Leqi Shen - Piano - Youth Category - Gold Medalist - Canada

Leqi Shen is a talented pianist who began playing at the age of five and quickly showed natural aptitude for the instrument. He has lived in multiple countries, which has influenced his worldview and love for music. In addition to piano, he enjoys playing the bass and has a passion for the technical and theoretical aspects of music. Aside from music, Leqi has several other hobbies including alpine skiing, which he has been pursuing since childhood. He finds it to be a unique form of freedom and focus. He is also an avid reader and enjoys exploring different genres and authors. Leqi moved to Canada to further his music studies with pianist Ryan Phelps in Ottawa. He has gained recognition for his exceptional performances in various competitions and has received multiple awards and accolades. Emily Phan - Piano - Professional Category - Gold Medalist - USA

​American pianist Emily Phan is a highly acclaimed classical pianist who has been featured in multiple news articles such as USA’s Newsweek, Japan’s Newsweek for Women, and France’s most leading classical music station - Radio Classique.  Emily has earned over 20 top prizes in regional, national, and international music competitions. Emily has been invited to perform across Europe, Russia, and the United States at renowned concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in NYC, Mozarteum Concert Hall in Austria, Palais Prinz Carl hall in Germany, and the Richard Nixon Library in California, USA. She has participated in music festivals including International Institute for Young Musicians (IIYM) and Duxbury Music Festival (DMF). Dallin Bissett  - Organ - Collegiate Category - Gold Medalist - Canada

Dallin Bissett is an 18-year-old organist and high school student from Raymond, Alberta, Canada. He studied piano as a child. Just over four years ago, he discovered the 1940s era Casavant Frères pipe organ in a church in his small, rural community and developed a love for the instrument. Dallin is also an accomplished tap dancer, which he believes may have been an asset when it came to learning organ pedalling technique! He currently serves as an organist for local church congregations and choirs.

Dallin has had the opportunity to play a number of beautiful instruments around the world, including the iconic Tabernacle and Conference Center organs on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; the Jack Singer Concert Hall organ in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; the organ at St. Paul’s Within the Walls in Rome, Italy; and the grand organ of the Cathedral of Milan in Italy.

Dallin is the recipient of a gold medal from the 2023 Euro Elite International Music Competition and was recently awarded the prize of ‘Top Gold
Medallist’ in the ‘Collegiate’ category at the 2023 Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition. Dallin has recently been accepted into the
School of Music at Brigham Young University to study Organ Performance.

Yuriy Rogachev - Piano - Youth Category - Gold Medalist - USA

Yuriy Rogachev is a freshman at Oak Park and River Forest High School, IL, USA. He
has studied piano for 8 years and his present teacher is Susanne Metz. Yuriy’s recent
accomplishments include gold medal at the 2023 Grand Metropolitan International Music
Competition, first place at the Parello-Veverka Competition, International Great Composers
Competition, Illinois Music Association's Olympic Competition, Granquist Music Competition. He
is also a gold medalist for Chicago Area Music Teachers Association's Sonata-Sonatina
Festival. He earned Regional Gold Medals, State Certificates of Excellence and First-Class
Honors with Distinction Certificates at Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program,
which resulted in an invitation to perform at North Central Celebration of Excellence Recitals at
Chicago Symphony Center.

​Lynn Ueno - Piano - Junior Category -  Gold Medalist - USA
 
Lynn Ueno is a 10-year-old pianist from California who has been studying under the guidance of Prof. Anna Poklewski and Ms. Bianca Roesli since the age of 5. Lynn's passion for music has led her to remarkable achievements at a young age. She made her debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London at the age of 6 and has since won numerous awards and prizes.

In 2019, Lynn won the 1st Prize from the "International Music Competition London Grand Prize Virtuoso," where she performed brilliantly. Her most significant accomplishment came in 2020 when she won the 1st Prize from the "American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition" and performed at the renowned Carnegie Hall in NY in 2022.

Lynn has received several other awards for her exceptional talent, including the FIRST PRIZE + EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG TALENT Special Prize in the "International Music Competition Bonn Grand Prize Virtuoso" in 2020, the 1st Prize in the 2021 Great Composers Competition, and the Platinum Award with the top score in her category at the 2022 Quebec International Music Competition. She has also received the 3rd Prize in both the 2021 and 2022 United States International Music Competition, the 1st Prize in the 2021 US New Star Piano Competition by composer Chopin, and the 2nd Prize in the 2021 KAMSA Competition, among others.

In addition to performing, Lynn is also an enthusiastic music composer. Her work "Thunderstorm" was awarded in the Reflections Art Program 2019-2020 in California.

​Dylan Zhang is 9 years old. He has just completed his second year at Lincoln Elementary School in River Forest, IL, U.S.A. He is passionate in piano, mathematics, reading and writing, as well as coding in Scratch. In his spare time, he plays tennis and baseball, and he loves roller skating. He is a big fan of dinosaurs, and wants to be a paleontologist and a game designer.

​Athena Alene R. Undazan - Piano - Youth Category - Bronze Medalist - Philippines

Athena Alene R. Undazan is a 12-year-old artist and musician who was born and raised in the
Philippines. As the eldest of two children, Athena has shown a strong passion for the arts, with a
particular focus on music. Under the guidance of her mentor, Rosario Gonzales, who has been playing
for over 70 years, Athena has been playing the piano for two and a half years.

Apart from her musical talents, Athena is a member of her school's Chorale and contributes to her school magazine, The Theresian, as an artist. She has a penchant for various forms of art, including video animations, free-hand and digital drawings, and crafts, which she enjoys creating in her free time.

Athena has consistently demonstrated excellence in her studies since starting school, earning her a reputation as one of the school's outstanding students. She is also a responsible and caring older sister to her brother and a dutiful daughter to her parents. Athena is known for her warm-hearted nature and simple yet kind personality.

Aside from her artistic pursuits, Athena enjoys spending quality time with friends, having sleepovers, and exploring different cuisines. She has also begun collecting vintage toys and stuffed animals.

Athena has performed in her school's Diamond Concert, showcasing her musical talent and passion. She especially loves pieces such as Nocturne Opt 9 No. 2 by Frédéric Chopin and Swann Lake by Tchaikovsky.
